We're smitten with this just bitten berry dark lip look at Dior's FW16 show at Paris Fashion Week. The colour gives an edge to the otherwise immaculate makeup look by Dior's makeup, creative and image director, Peter Philips. It is paired with neat clean hair from Redken star Guido Palau, who chose a side parting and swept hair sleekly behind the ears. At the nape of the neck, two small buns created a chic style. "Lips are the focal point of the look," explained Philips, who coated them with gloss for a mirror effect. Here's how:

Hydrate lips, line, then colour with a plum shade and coat with gloss. Philips used Dior Addict Lip Glow, Dior Contour lip liner and the Rouge Dior in Poison “an extreme shade of plum that flirts on the edge of black” before coating with Dior Addict Ultra Gloss Bulle. The exact dark lipstick shade will not be available in New Zealand until September, along with the show's eye palette and nail polishes.

Eyes: Curl lashes and apply a base coat, before mascara. Philips used Diorshow Maximiser 3D before applying successive coats of Diorshow Iconic Overcurl mascara in Over Black, on both upper and lower lashes for maximum volume. "I wanted to emphasize the impression of texture on the lashes. Eyelids were gently shaded in delicate tones from the 5 Couleurs Palette Skyline Edition Parisian Sky."

Complexion: Aim for a flawless effect. Philips used the three-step Diorskin Forever routine. "First I applied Diorskin Forever & Ever Wear Primer, followed by Diorskin Forever Fluid Foundation. For perfect cover without shine, I used Diorskin Forever & Ever Control Loose Powder. For tiny corrections, a touch of Fix It here and there adds the perfect, luminous finishing touch."

Nails: Models wore either a chic beige in Dior Vernis Aerial, or a rich, deep chocolate brown in Dior Vernis Obscure.
