1. Aucklanders are being treated to a special one-off gig at historic Pah Homestead this Friday, starring French DJ and producer Breakbot who is flying in for the event. He will be bringing plenty of hits from his collaborative album Still Waters to the party — a blend of techno and vintage sounds — and accompanying him will be singer Irfane. Supporting acts include A Band Called Success, Cool Kids Club (Reunion Set), Heads Garage DJs and Bavhu.

2. This Sunday, the General Collective Market is heading to Ponsonby. It's a wonderful chance to shop for beautiful handmade gifts for family and friends: there will be everything from homewares, to jewellery, Christmas decorations, stationery, jewellery, fashion, skincare, plants, ceramics, children's gifts and more.

3. Rooftop party event series Anno Domini returns to the Auckland Art Gallery this summer, with the first event kicking off this Sunday featuring UK DJ Ben UFO and Melbourne new wave dance music producer Tornado Wallace. There will also be sessions held in January and March with different DJs from around the world.

4. Make a head start on your Christmas shopping with our stylish gift guide, which is jam-packed with over 130 fabulous gift ideas.

5. Now you can give roses, lilies and carnations that last forever. Vase is a limited edition series of six A1 prints of beautiful bouquets arranged in locally designed vases and is a a contemporary take on the classic still life, set against vibrant colours. The collection is a collaboration by photographer Adam Bryce, stylist and former magazine editor Josie Steenhart and florist Lucy Houghton. Head along to the launch evening at Simon James Design tonight (6-8pm) where prints can be purchased for $50; after that they are $100 or framed for $250.

6. Join artist Daniel Kamp for an evening of canapes, mocktails and observation at Holm, an innovative gallery featuring sculptural objects, homewares, light and accessories that celebrates creativity by merging coffee and cuisine with design.
