La Cigale Winter Solstice Market
Mark the longest night of the year with a line-up of food trucks and French delicacies at La Cigale's special winter market. Winetopia

Stone Soup Launch Party
Celebrate the latest issue of indie food magazine Stone Soup Syndicate and the start of the oyster season at their fundraising and launch party at the Cross St Market this Sunday. You can learn to shuck oysters and then eat them in dishes created by chefs from Apero and Welcome Eatery, or try a special oyster po' boy from food writer Leisha Jones. There'll be barbecue brisket from Morepork, vegetarian comfort food, cups of spicy chai, natural wine and Sawmill beer. All served to a soundtrack of DJs including Goldenmayne.

Bare Waxing and Skin 10 Year Anniversary
When it comes to birthdays, most people get presents rather than give them, but the owner of Bare Waxing and Skin centres decided the 10th anniversary of her Auckland business was a chance to give back. "When we brainstormed with our team about what we could do to celebrate 10 years in business, we very quickly settled on a charity day in which we could involve our clients as well as the community we operate in." All proceeds for services and treatments on Monday will go to two local charities. Twenty therapists across the four centres are working extra shifts on the day to accommodate bookings.
