Auckland native Kirsty Godso gets to travel the world with her role as a Nike master trainer. Here, she shares her favourite spots to go while in Los Angeles:

1. Gjelina
A really great restaurant located on the popular Abbot Kinney in Venice Beach. The food and vibe is amazing and it's always a good time whether you're there for brunch, lunch or dinner. It's hard to get a table but is worth the wait!

2. Venice Beach
I love to hang out here; there's so much great food and coffee, and cute shops down Abbot Kinney. It's really fun to bike around this area, especially along the boardwalk. Be sure to check out the Venice Beach basketball courts. There are a lot of great yoga options in the Venice, Santa Monica area too.

3. Ysabel
My favourite restaurant for dinner. Everything on the menu is incredible and it offers an impressive cocktail list too. The atmosphere is ideal for anything from a date night to a gathering with friends; it's fun any night of the week.

4. Equinox
Definitely the best gym chain I've been to. It's worth the expensive membership. It has a wide variety of group fitness classes with crazy names (Whipped, Strip Hop etc.) lead by freestyle instructors on offer, as well as weight training and cardio facilities. The people watching is pretty outstanding too!

5. The Standard, West Hollywood
I love staying in West Hollywood – there are great shops around Melrose and a lot of good food and coffee options. Most of my favourite gyms are in this area.

6. Flybarre
If you're looking for a great barre class in West Hollywood, definitely check this out. It's challenging… you will definitely walk out shaking!

7. Prevail Boxing
My favourite spot to train in LA! Located in West Hollywood, this intimate boxing gym is fun, fresh and a great workout. All of the coaches are amazing and really friendly, while delivering a guaranteed sweat. Plus some great hip hop playlists to get you through it.

8. Sweetgreen
If you're looking for a quick and healthy salad spot, look no further than Sweetgreen where you can pick from their tempting options or customise your own.

9. Runyon Canyon
Finally, definitely do Runyon Canyon – it has the most amazing views out over the city! [NB: Runyon is closed for repairs until the end of July]
