FRIDAY NIGHT
Begin the weekend with a challenge to yourself — a long weekend digital detox. It may sound daunting at first, but the benefits of unplugging for even a few days will be noticeable. These tips should help — like getting organised and buying an alarm clock before you start, so you don't have to sleep with your device in the room.

SATURDAY MORNING
If you've always wanted to attempt to make your own cheese, try this recipe for deliciously crumbly and creamy feta cheese — a three-day process of sitting and pressing. Other long-term foodie projects to try? Fragrant pickled vegetables, left for up to two weeks, or a versatile tomato kasundi, which can be eaten immediately or left to mature for four weeks. If you're feeling ambitious, start the process of making your own kombucha at home.

SATURDAY NIGHT
Have a relaxing night in and make this homemade hair and face mask, using banana, avocado, honey and virgin coconut oil. Ideally left in your hair for at least an hour, it's the perfect excuse to zone out and meditate — or try to, at least. Swami Yogamani Saraswati's meditation tips should help.

SUNDAY MORNING
Get up early to knead some dough and make your own bread from scratch. Try making Hemsley and Hemsley's healthy flaxseed buns, or Petite Kitchen's crusty artisan bread. Both best eaten warm from the oven.

SUNDAY AFTERNOON
Head outdoors and get your hands dirty in the garden — these simple tips for garden novices will help get you inspired. If the weather doesn't allow and it's pouring outside — highly likely — garden inside instead, by growing your own microgreens to leave on a sunny windowsill.

MONDAY MORNING
You don't need to get in your car for a great brunch — try making your own at home, with Angela Casley's delicious homemade crumpets smothered in jam or golden syrup, or a stack of golden brown coconut hot cakes. While you're at it, make the perfect green smoothie with Megan May's tips.

MONDAY AFTERNOON
The long weekend may be coming to an end, but don't get the back to work blues. Take in these tips for having a good day at work, and while you're at it, get organised for the week ahead with a reorganisation of your wardrobe — so you can get dressed in five minutes flat.
