1. St. Vincent, aka Anne Clark is known for rocking purple hair and strong, sculptural outfits. Oh, and collaborating with Bon Iver and David Byrne of Talking Heads, performing with Nirvana, and appearing on one of our favourite hipster satire shows Portlandia. She played at Diane von Furstenberg's New York Fashion Week show in February.

2.Connan Mockasin, the conceptual Kiwi, is now based in New York and his fashion cred keeps rising - he has recorded and toured with Charlotte Gainsbourg, and Nicolas Ghesquiere included his song Please Turn Me Into The Snat in the soundtrack for his first Louis Vuitton show in March. The singer loves kimonos and advocates a borrowed, DIY and found aesthetic, with a particular penchant for women's clothes.

3. Swedish popster, model and sometime-actress Lykke Li is renowned for her edgy, mostly black style and the way she rocks brands like Acne. She recently lent her stylish eye to a collaboration with popular Swedish store & Other Stories.

4. Local Michael Jackson tribute band Literal F*ck (left) consists of film director, model and Stephen Marr marketing and PR manager Veronica Crockford-Pound and Claire Duncan, formerly of Dear Time's Waste. The raunchily-styled duo performed at this year's Laneway and we look forward to seeing their next outing.

5. Los Angeles-based singer Banks has been hailed for her soulful music and moody signature style - mostly monochrome with a shot of red. The gorgeous star has a cover forHunger magazine and a recent Coach campaign under her belt, and her song Waiting Gamefeatured in a Victoria's Secret commercial.
