Calling all stylish studs and fillies, it's Diamond Day at the Ellerslie Races, the glamorous finale to Auckland Cup Week. Those unsure of what to wear to the event might find inspiration knowing Whips n Spurs is back, inspired by the colour and action of Rio's Carnival. The day's feature races are the Group I Haunui Farm Diamond Stakes (for the country's best two-year-old horses) and the Group I New Zealand Stakes as well as the Group lll Mr Tiz Trophy. Fashionistas can enter the Diamond Darling Fashion Competition, with a top prize package valued at more than $10,000. Racing starts at approximately 12.50pm.
