Winter elegance was the theme behind Bronwynn’s and Cameron’s big day, with help from wedding stylist Erin Lovich from Wonder.

They’d always envisaged getting married on Waiheke in summer but after seven years together, chose to tie the knot the same year as their engagement. They also knew they’d have a better chance of family and friends coming along by avoiding the busy summer season.

"Neither of us had ever been to a winter wedding, and the more we thought about it, the more appealing the idea became," says Bronwynn, 33, a producer on TV3 show Jono and Ben.

“I was also very excited by the idea of our wedding guests being able to wear cocktail dresses and evening gowns!”

Bronwynn’s dress, the first one she tried on, was from Jane Yeh, as was her cape and veil. Cameron’s suit came from Crane Brothers, the groomsmen’s suits were from Hallenstein Brothers and the bridesmaids’ dresses from Nordstrom.

“Being a winter wedding, I wanted glamorous and graceful. The blush pink was part of the colour palette and looked gorgeous against the groomsmen’s navy suits. The sequins suggested fun but were dignified.”

They married at the Northern Club in the city, the best winter wedding venue they could think of, given its classical feel and modern ballroom that looks out over the city, beneath crystal chandeliers.

Votives were scattered across every surface to create a romantic atmosphere. There were also a few quirky details that gave the wedding personality: Cameron, 28, a salesman, requested Simpsons characters for the table names.

“This will always be special to me as it’s funny and says a lot about us as a couple,” says Bronwynn.
