The countdown to the David Jones Wellington opening is on, with the imminent arrival of several top luxury accessory brands in New Zealand.

The iconic Australian department store will feature bespoke store-in-store boutiques from Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen, Valentino and Saint Laurent - the first time the brands have been available to buy in NZ.

Other luxury brands on offer include Chanel, Proenza Schouler and Chloe, with jewellery from Monica Vinader, Samantha Wills, Kallis Pearls and Astley Clarke and accessories from Mimco, Raymond Weil and more.

“Footwear and accessories is one of the fastest growing segments in our business, particularly at the luxury end,” says Bridget Veals, David Jones’ General Manager of footwear and accessories.

“Our research shows the New Zealand customer is fashion forward and well travelled so we are confident the range of international designer shoes and accessories we've curated for Wellington will both excite and inspire.”

Alongside fashion and accessories, the store will offer homewares and top beauty brands including Tom Ford.

The three-level store - the first international opening from David Jones - opens on July 28, in the space formerly occupied by Kirkcaldies & Stains.
