Stacey Hanley stood out in this stunning Philip Treacy hat to win the fashion prize at the New Zealand Cup in Christchurch on the weekend. The Aucklander originally ordered it to wear to the races at Ellerslie but it arrived too late, so she set it aside for Riccarton on Saturday.

She now wins automatic entry to the country's biggest racewear competition, the Viva Prix de Fashion at Ellerslie in March. Viva's Beauty Editor Janetta Mackay was among the judges in Christchurch and the prize was awarded by another Christchurch old girl, NZME presenter Laura McGoldrick who was ambassador for the city's big Cup & Show Week.

Hanley said she bought the hat from the famed Irish milliner as a "once in a lifetime" thing. She teamed it with a Toni Maticevski dress from Melbourne.
