Though we get excited about new and emerging brands, it’s good to be reminded of the labels that have become firm favourites in many wardrobes, particularly the ones that move with the times. It’s been 16 years since Taylor boutique launched in New Zealand, and for its autumn/winter collection trickling into stores from Friday, a fresh new direction is marked with the launch of the brand’s latest campaign photographed by creative duo Karen Inderbitzen-Waller and Delphine Avril Planqueel.

The couple worked on photographing, styling and art direction, which includes a geometric mobile and matching earrings set designed for the campaign by Avril to highlight the collection’s nod to contemporary art.

Titled [IN] Complete, the collection features classic signature tailoring and raw edging with a more streamlined focus compared to past seasons.

“The range questions when we consider things a piece of work complete, something often asked in the art world where judgement and taste create the correct finishing point,” explains designer Vicki Taylor. “This season we have further minimised some of our layering. Garments will have layers built in (such as a tailored blazer with two fronts) or feature a contrast neckband on tops to make it look layered but is just one top or dress.”

The first drop will consist of lightweight tran-seasonal pieces, perfect for this time of year from languid silk dresses to fine knitwear that can be worn all year round.
