The day of love is huge at Britomart dessert restaurant Milse, with a range of pretty treats to eat in or take away already on offer. Have a gander at its Instagram account for a teaser think a glazed gateaux ($50, with pistachio, rose water, marshmallow and raspberry) and handmade chocolates ($2.50 each) either in pink (caramelised white chocolate with raspberry and chilli) or black and red (dark chocolate with strawberry and cabernet sauvignon vinegar) all heart-shaped of course.

Westmere favourite Catroux is doing a mini Valentine's Day cake for 2-4 people for $17, a smaller version of its coconut and raspberry cake which comes with a layer of passionfruit curd and is covered in mascarpone and toasted coconut thread, lychee and white chocolate. Pick up on February 14 only, or delivery can be arranged .

A lovely way to spend the evening on the 14th is by whisking away your love for a surprise dinner date starring a seriously healthy Valentine's Day picnic box from Little Bird. For $79 you'll get a gluten and dairy-free vegan feast featuring a "Love Bird" bowl of good stuff, raw pizza, two strawberry rose nut milks, two chocolate raspberry lava cakes, and two strawberry and white cacao macarons.
