How to Celebrate Sherry Week

Sherry week is back, with a number of local establishments offering special tastings and menus. It’s a great opportunity to try some exciting Spanish Sherries accompanied by the foods with which they’re so well suited.

CazadorCazador's Rebecca Smidt will be hosting three tastings over Sherry Week in the Cazador Bar. Guests will taste a flight of four Sherries, matched to four different mezze prepared by Cazador chef, Dariush Lolaiy. "Sherry is our favourite wine, and we have at least 14 by the glass at any one time - we're excited to share them during Sherry Week!" Ponsonby Road BistroEvery day of Sherry Week, Ponsonby Road Bistro is offering a tasting plate of Spanish flavours to accompany a flight of three chilled Alvear Sherries. These include the Alvear Fino CB with a bowl of Southern clams with garlic, Manchego and lemon; the Alvear Medium Dry with escabèche of sardines with pickled carrot and red onion and Alvear Asuncion Oloroso with grilled chorizo with membrillo. Throughout the entire week, separate Alvear branded menu/tasting maps will be handed out with the usual a la carte menus to encourage customers to begin their dining experience with the flight of Sherries and tasting plate.This will run the whole week from Monday 2nd November.
