Watch Zambesi's Iconic St James Show

The 2005 presentation at Auckland's St James Theatre is still one of NZ Fashion Week's key moments

The one that people still rave about, Zambesi's epic 2005 presentation at Auckland's St James Theatre, is one of New Zealand Fashion Week's key moments.

Pluto performed in the background as models with mussed-up hair (actually wigs, created by hair stylist Greg Murrell) and rock 'n' roll swagger walked, stalked and strutted on stage wearing signature Zambesi looks from the winter 2006 collection titled '...and the song remains the same'.

Model Penny Pickard remembers it as one of her best Fashion Week moments. "We walked on the stage with a rock band playing behind us, and it seemed like there was infinite amounts of champagne. It reminded me of the 90s."

This year, Zambesi will open NZFW on August 28, as the recipients of this year’s Mercedes-Benz Presents accolade.
