It’s time to harness the fierce feline within this Chinese New Year (or Lunar New Year as it’s better known), with 15 days of consecutive celebrations kicking off on February 1.

This date signifies the start of the Year of the Tiger, who, according to legends of the Chinese zodiac, came third to the Rat and Ox in a Great Race set by the Jade Emperor to win his favour.

It’s unsurprising, then, that people born in the Year of the Tiger are known to be extremely competitive, courageous and ambitious. This drive is matched only by a desire to seek justice for others.

If you were born in 1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998 or 2010 your birthday will fall during the Year of the Tiger, with notable Tigers including Queen Elizbeth II, Stevie Wonder, Bon Jovi, Leonardo DiCaprio, Lady Gaga and Shawn Mendes.

Astrologers predict 2022 will bring with it plenty of risk-taking and adventure a time to fiercely pursue passions and experience enthusiasm anew.

To mark the occasion, a number of beauty brands have flexed their creative side with the unveiling of bright and bold limited-edition offerings that reflect the strength and determination of the Tiger.
