That Sugar Film
In true Super Size Me-style, actor/director Damon Gameau makes himself a guinea pig in this new film to show viewers the effect sugar has on human health. For 60 days, Gameau consumes the daily sugar intake of an average teenager (40 teaspoons) with foods generally presented as healthy — no icecream, chocolate or fizzy drinks. The result is a humorous yet eye-opening perspective on the food industry.

Go Green Expo
Organic skincare, local beer and fair trade toys are just some of the products being showcased at this weekend's Go Green Expo in Auckland. The event is aimed at promoting more sustainable and healthy living by making it easy for consumers to find green alternatives.

Giant Poppy
In commemoration of the Anzac centenary, a giant red poppy by artist Tony McNeight has been installed in Auckland's Domain. Through donations made by the public to the RSA, the poppy will have red metal discs added, representing the 59,000 fallen soldiers. The flower is available to view everyday from 8am-6pm until April 24.
