1. I Love the 90s Tour
Vanilla Ice! Coolio! Color Me Badd! Tone Loc! Salt N Pepa! Young MC! All in one place at one show! If you're feeling nostalgic for this great decade of pop and hip-hop, you'll need to get yourself a ticket to the I Love the 90s Tour at Trust Arena on Saturday night. With a big lineup like that, there'll only be time for each act to play their best bangers which, let's face it, is probably a good thing - though songs like Gangster's Paradise will never get old.
• The Trusts Arena, Henderson, Saturday June 3, 7pm. Tickets on sale at Ticketek.

2. Killer Queens Double Feature
If you're at a loose end on Monday, the Academy is showing two classic French films for the price of one, starring Jeanne Moreau and Catherine Deneuve in equally vicious roles. First up is The Bride Wore Black (1968) which stars Jeanne as newly widowed Julie Kohler who sets out to murder five men; the second feature, Repulsion (1965), sees Catherine play a young woman suffering from androphobia (the pathological fear of interaction with men) who slowly goes mad when she's left alone in her apartment. A portion of the ticket sales will go to young film-makers Au Revoir, Shosanna Productions.
• 44 Lorne St, Auckland Central, 5pm. 15-minute interval between films, visit Academycinemas.co.nz

3. Sabatini factory sale
Grab a bargain at the sale from local knitwear icons Sabatini, with merino knits, dresses, coats, samples, seconds, menswear and more marked down. The winter sale at the brand's Mt Roskill showroom, has been open all week, but head along after work on Thursday and Friday before it closes.
• 180 Stoddard Rd, Mt Roskill, Thursday June 1: 9am-6pm, Friday June 2: 9am-5pm.

4. Flash Back: Fashion photography in New Zealand 1930-2015
Part of the Auckland Festival of Photography, this special exhibition curated by the New Zealand Fashion Museum looks back at our fashion history through the lens of imagery. Featuring work from key fashion photographers, including Max Thomson and Kerry Brown, the showcase aims to celebrate those who have helped shape New Zealand's identity - and question what identity through fashion photography means today.
• Gus Fisher Gallery, 74 Shortland St, Auckland Central. From 5.30pm on June 2, until June 20. Visit nzfashionmuseum.org.nz

5. Ardbeg Day
If you're a whisky connoisseur - or if you'd like to be - head along to The Jefferson on Saturday for its Ardbeg Day celebrations. One of the biggest events of the year for whisky drinkers, Ardbeg Day is held on the last Saturday of the Islay Whisky Festival, Feis Ile, in Scotland. The day is celebrated at Ardbeg Embassies worldwide, and this year Aucklanders will be among the first people in the world to try the limited edition 2017 bottling, Ardbeg Kelpie. The new single malt, aged in virgin Black Sea oak casks, is named for the "kelpie" - a water demon said to live in the waters surrounding the distillery on the Isle of Islay. For some whisky-tasting tips from local expert Tash McGill, read our story here.
Ardbeg Day (R18) is at The Jefferson, 7 Fort Lane, Auckland Central, on Saturday June 3 from 7.30pm. Free. Guests will enjoy a exclusive virtual reality tasting, games and paired canapes.

6. Bright Nights
Be one of the first to see Auckland's new permanent lighting installation at the Viaduct's Bright Nights event this weekend. The artwork, designed by light artist Angus Muir, stretches along three lengths of the Viaduct's main promenade from former Team New Zealand America's Cup yacht KZ1, past O'Hagan's pub and along the western seawall. Its 2000 lights will project light sequences such as rainbows into the harbour, and there are plans for regular light shows to be held in the space throughout the year. This weekend's event, which kicks off at 6pm each evening from Friday to Sunday, will feature free entertainment - including futuristic Vospertron dancers who wear costumes made from LED lights - and food and drink stalls.
• Viaduct Harbour, Friday June 2 to Sunday June 4 from 6pm. Free.
