Cross St Music Festival
Don't miss out on the return of Cross St Music Festival and its buzzing street party this Saturday. Taking over Cross St behind Karangahape Rd, the day out celebrates Kiwi musicians and bands, with food and drink from local vendors, and of course, our Tamaki Makaurau. This year's line-up includes Flying Nun alumni The Bats, breakout rap duo Church & AP, and Mount Maunganui rockers The Leers. Plus up and coming artists from around the country including acts Edie, Cindy, Leaping Tiger and Same Name Confusion. Between the live entertainment are small sets from DJs K2K and Isaac Tucker to keep the atmosphere kicking all afternoon. Over My Dead Body: Little Black Bitch
Sink into some black comedy, mythology, and waiata watching the award-winning play by Jason Te Mete, Over My Dead Body: Little Black Bitch. The thrilling new Māori theatre piece from Tuatara Collective is told in both English and Te Reo and combines contemporary dance and haka, with a live original Aotearoa roots soundtrack. Milk & Honey Music Festival
Celebrate International Women's Day this Sunday with some free tunes from an all-female line-up at Silo Park. Back for its second year, this weekend's line up has hip-hop queen JessB, indie couple She's So Rad, drum'n'bass boss MC Tali, dreamy electronic duo Imugi, R'n'B powerhouse Disciple Pati and performers from Girls Rock Aotearoa.  DJs Phoebe Falconer, Lil Bok Choy, and DJ duo The Gingham Twins. Opening the festival will be a special kapa haka performance by critically acclaimed Angitu. Auckland Vegan Food Festival
Tuck into a vege burger at Auckland's Vegan Food Festival this Sunday. Run by the Food Truck Collective, the event celebrates all things plant-based with food trucks Wise Boys, Bun Hun, Double Dutch Fries, Hapunan, Jo-Bros and more on the line-up. Women's Work photography exhibition
The work of 21 photographers is on display in a new photography exhibition Women's Work to coincide with International Women's Day. Women's Work features 41 images from women photographers from the Advertising and Illustrative Photographers Association (AIPA), including Viva contributor Mara Sommer, Sara Orme and AIPA vice-president Victoria Baldwin. The exhibition is an opportunity to take a break from the ubiquitous male perspective and experience the world through a female lens, says Victoria. Kick back to some beats and bevvies this weekend at The Hunting Lodge's Blush Crush sessions throughout March. The West Auckland winery is throwing a summer party with neighbours Liberty Brewing Co. in celebration of their collaboration sparkling pink sav Blush Crush, with the afternoon featuring a rotating line-up of top DJ's. This Sunday has tunes from George FM along with Blush Crush and wines from The Hunting Lodge on offer, and 10 brews on tap from Liberty Brewing Co to choose from.
