Laneway Festival at Albert Park
The ultimate back to work incentive finally descends onto Albert Park this long weekend. Laneway Festival returns for our annual fix of sun, music, food, and friends, and the line-up is a cracker. There are plenty of pop beats from The 1975 and Charli XCX, along with Aussie rockers King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, The Chats and songwriter Julia Jacklin on the line-up. Brazilian Day Festival at Rocket Park
Liven up your weekend courtesy of this weekend's free Brazilian Day Festival. Enjoy a colourful program of live dancers, samba workshops, Zumba, traditional food stalls, a bustling market, and more on offer. There's also traditional art displays at the free event including music genre forró, and a style of capoeira, the unique Afro-Brazilian martial art. Chinese New Year Federal Street Festival
Chinese New Year festivities are kicking weekend long on Federal Street to welcome in the Year of the Rat. Head along on Friday and Sunday (6pm-8pm) for entertainment in the Plaza underneath the Sky Tower with lion dancers, dragon dancers, a Chinese acrobatic show, and calligraphy and balloon artists. Auckland night markets and market stalls will be running most of Saturday (2pm-8pm) including a leaping descent from the God of Fortune (by SkyJump) from the Sky Tower, followed by a traditional Eye Spot ceremony and firecrackers. Hare Krishna Food Festival
