NZ International Comedy Festival
If Auckland seems a little more upbeat, it might be because the NZ International Comedy Festival is taking over venues across the city. Our picks include Scottish comedian Fern Brady (who shared her beauty routine with us), Tom Sainsbury (one of our 'most fabulous' people of 2017), Billy T Nominee Alice Snedden, and Nic Sampson (who you'll hear us chatting to next week). Gatherings x Orphans Kitchen Restaurant Swap
The head chefs of Orphans Kitchen and Christchurch's Gatherings restaurant have switched kitchens for the week (with the final night on Saturday). The swap between Tom Hishon and Alex Davies is part of their collaborative Root-to-Petal week, where five top restaurants around the country will create entirely plant-based menus.

The Labyrinth at Silo Park
Head down to Silo Park for the final film of the season, The Labyrinth, directed by Jim Henson and starring David Bowie. As always, there will be delicious food trucks on site before the final film screening, making it a fitting way to farewell summer.

Styling Appointments with Marina Didovich and Ruby
This Saturday, celebrity stylist Marina Didovich will be visiting Ruby's Newmarket store from Sydney to host one-on-one, half-hour styling appointments. The visit celebrates the release of the brand's new "animal-centric" Faux Pas collection, which Marina worked as the stylist on. Until May 10, $10 from each purchase will also be donated to the SPCA.

The Nespresso Breakfast with Josh Emett
This weekend, chef Josh Emett, Nespresso and Viva are inviting the most dedicated coffee-lovers to a weekend of bespoke four-course degustation brunches at Ostro. Josh says he's incorporated coffee into each dish to create a "really, really lovely" menu that makes the most of Nespresso's range, with a focus on their stronger blends.
