A Taste of France at the Hilton

Three rooms at New Zealand’s Hilton hotels — in Auckland, Taupo and Queenstown — have been transformed into Hotel du Marc-inspired havens for July and August. The premium hotel chain has paired with luxury champagne house Veuve Clicquot to fit-out one room per property in the style of the invitation-only hotel in Reims, France, which was originally the glamorous Maison of Madame Clicquot herself. Only honoured visitors to Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin can stay there.

The room designs are the work of interior stylist Michelle Halford of The Design Chaser, who has combined a mix of "old world sophistication and modern decor" to capture the feel of the French property. She says she has introduced "playful theatrical twists using new luxury elements inspired by French elegance and sophistication". "Muted tones provide the backdrop for the signature Clicquot yellow accents subtly worked into each room, while beautiful textiles provide texture, warmth and comfort."

Guests booking into the Madame Clicquot Room at Hilton Auckland, the Ponsardin Suite at Hilton Lake Taupo and the La Grande Dame Room at Hilton Queenstown Resort & Spa will receive a bottle of Veuve on arrival, and complimentary breakfast. A food and champagne pairing will also be available in the hotel restaurants, think a specially created beurre bosc pear sorbet matched with Veuve Clicquot NV at Fish Restaurant at Hilton Auckland, and an Over the Moon cheeseboard, also paired with the NV.

Available until August 27. For reservations, visit Hilton.com
