The Royal New Zealand Ballet brings Spanish flair to Christchurch tonight, as they continue their national tour of Don Quixote. Feisty lovers Kitri and Basilio take centre stage in the sunny setting of 1950s Barcelona. Designer Gary Harris found inspiration in old books, fans, lace shawls and the paintbox colours of Spanish culture. The costumes also reference Jean-Paul Gaultier's iconic Breton stripe and ''Le Male'' flacon; and seedy villain Gamache wears sharp tailoring inspired by Vivienne Westwood.
