Say aloha to Double Rainbouu, a new resort wear that focuses on and updates a perennial classic: the Hawaiian shirt. Drawing on American surf and pop culture, plus the laidback seaside lifestyle of Australia and New Zealand, the brand offers exclusive printed shirts for men and women.

The Australian duo behind it can be credited for helping turn cult Australian streetwear label Ksubi into a household name. Mikey Nolan was a former creative director, and Toby Jones was art director, working alongside founders Geroge Gorrow and Dan Single for seven years. They now also work with George on the art focused fashion brand Cocurata, which launched last year.

"We wanted to start a brand that had a good lifestyle ethos behind it: to be outside, in the sun and having fun," explains Toby.

• Double Rainbouu shirt, $170, exclusively in New Zealand at Black Box Boutique this month. Ph (09) 378 0073.
