My Weekend: Kate Sylvester

Kate Sylvester.

The weekend means family time in the Sylvester household, and while she may be best known for her clothing line, Kate Sylvester is just at home on the sidelines of a sports field. "Winter weekends for me revolve around sport. My boys play soccer and rugby so I'll be yelling my head off on the sideline. I love it!"

Despite having just presented her first solo Sylvester show at the Marr Factory and preparing to take on New Zealand Fashion Week next Thursday, Kate manages to make the most of her weekends. Take a look at a few of her plans:

Shopping... Frocks are work so in the weekends I trawl the bins at Real Groovy for vinyl and Dear Reader or Novel for books.

Going... If the surf's up, I'll head to our bach at Mangawhai with my boys.

Loving... I'm a total history nerd so for a special treat I go to theMuseum. I especially love the Halls of Remembrance and the Wintergarden glasshouses.

Trying... I have a yoga date at newly opened The Centre in Kingsland, and am intending to make that one a regular event!

Eating... The breakfast burrito atMeola Kitchen in Westmere is the best breakfast in Auckland.

Discovering... I do want to try L'oeuf in Mt Albert for breakfast too.

Drinking... A martini or two at Golden Dawn, Vermouth on the rocks at Orphans Kitchen - the perfect aperitif.

Dining... I am madly in love with the gnocchi at Orphans Kitchen and the tongue chips at Cazador.
