Modern yum-cha restaurant Culprit is hosting a special long lunch on Mother's Day with two special menus to choose from. Each begins with a selection of delicacies to start (think oysters, Te Mata figs, and chicken liver parfait), mains of fish or steak, and boysenberry ambrosia for dessert.

“Honey I’m Home” describes a delish little meringue on the menu, coincidently it’s also exactly how we feel when arriving into Cordis’ soft colour palette of blues and cream. Topped off with a chandelier and a tea sommelier, the welcome party is enough to make you stay for the whole afternoon.

Paris doesn’t seem so far away from this patisserie. Settle down in one of La Fourchette’s sunny booth seats and tuck into French delicacies of macarons and beef tartare. The tiers of treats can be enjoyed over tea or perhaps something a bit stronger - champagne anyone?

A more glamorous approach to picnicking comes wrapped up in a Bluebells Cakery cardboard box. The cafe meet cakeshop has adapted their range of sweet and savoury treats to suit a more personal kind of affair, with a new takeaway High Tea package. Set up in the sun alongside an afternoon tea complete with quiches, mini tarts and scones. Finish off the decadent treat with a thermos of tea and a bottle of bubbly to get the celebrations in full swing.
