If you know me well, you will already know about my obsession with organic apple cider vinegar - or ACV, as the cool kids call it.

My first experience with apple cider vinegar was when I was pregnant with my firstborn, almost six years ago. To be absolutely honest, in the beginning I couldn't stand the stuff. My husband has always been into finding natural health remedies and was trying to make me drink it three times a day, but I couldn't help but gag at the smell.

Looking back, I realise how things have changed. I now gag at artificial fragrances, toxic cleaning products and the smell of fast food, but not apple cider vinegar. Now I can't get enough of the stuff. Not only do I now love the smell, but as each day passes, I find a new and exciting way to incorporate this powerful and miraculous tonic in to my family's diet and daily life.

Let's talk internal health first. This incredibly nourishing vinegar provides a large amount of health benefits. ACV is known to help with weight loss, relieve heartburn, nausea and migraines. It naturally balances PH and glucose levels, detoxes the body, promotes a healthy digestive system, boosts energy and regulates candida issues.

It is also known to help relieve asthma, eczema and allergies, along with lowering blood pressure and cholesterol. Incredible, right? Those are only a few of the incredible healing properties of ACV.

It also does wonders for hair, nails and skin, and works as a fantastic hair rinse, leaving your locks soft and lustrous. I have also used ACV as a fabric softener and window cleaner.

If I ever feel a flu or cold coming on, I double up on my dose of ACV and it always seems to nip it in the bud.

Simply mix 1-2 tablespoons into a cup of water and take three times daily. I like to add a little raw honey for its incredible antibacterial properties. Oh, and did I mention it tastes fantastic in salad dressings, too?
