Recipe: Almond Milk and Honey Porridge

Try Angela Casley's tasty warming porridge for an easy-made breakfast

ALMOND MILK AND HONEY PORRIDGE
Serves 4

• 1 ½ cups large wholegrain oats
• ¼ tsp salt
• 3 cups milk or almond milk
• 1 banana, sliced
• 1 Tbsp honey
• 2 tsp carob powder
• ½ cup toasted coconut, plus extra for garnish
• ¼ cup pistachio nuts, chopped roughly

1. Place the oats, salt, and milk of your choice in a medium-sized pot. Heat very slowly until it comes to a simmer. Add the banana, honey, carob powder and coconut. Continue to cook, stirring, for a few minutes until the oats are cooked and the banana soft. The slower the cooking process, the tastier the porridge.

2. Serve straight into bowl and sprinkle with nuts and extra coconut.
