Tod's, the label best known for its signature Gommino loafers, has revealed that Kendall Jenner is the star of its Spring/Summer 2018 campaign, alongside Italian ballet dancer Roberto Bolle.

The 22-year-old model, who at the end of 2017 overtook Gisele Bundchen as the world's highest-earning model (raking in US$22 million over the course of the year), is a savvy choice considering her millennial appeal and 86 million followers on Instagram.

Roberto, meanwhile, is a cultural antidote to his co-star; a celebrated ballet dancer who has been dancing professionally since 1990, he made his Royal Ballet debut in 1999 opposite British ballerina Darcey Bussell in The Nutcracker. Now he is a principal dancer at La Scala with a not-too-shabby 534,000 followers on Instagram himself.

The campaign, which was shot by Baron & Baron, sees Kendall and Roberto lounging by the pool with various canine friends in tow, and clambering over rocks on a sunset-lit beach; the ideal backdrop for the most recent Tod's collection, which, with 1970s undertones, aims to encapsulate the "naturalness of an Italian summer".

Kendall wears white denim with buttery leather blouson shirting and fringed loafers and printed halterneck tops with frayed-hem jeans. Meanwhile, Roberto alternates between a brown suede jacket and jeans, and a denim shirt styled with navy chinos and leather trainers.

Despite launching a ready-to-wear collection 12 years ago and subsequently going on to experiment with a more fashion-forward approach to design, the focus on leather this season - from shoes and bags to shirts and jackets - rings true with the brand's timelessly elegant look.

In the campaign video, which captures an idyllic Amalfi-coast mood, Roberto and Kendall are seen taking turns to film, playing cards and enjoying pasta with an ocean view.

It's not the first time that Kendall has taken up a role behind the camera. The model made her debut as a photographer early last year, shooting the main fashion story for the 17th issue of LOVE magazine, and more recently capturing her sister Kylie, with whom she runs clothing brand Kendall + Kylie, for the cover of LOVE.
