Celebrity Beauty Looks We Love – MTV EMA Edition

Power to the ponytail

It appears Ashlee Simpson’s pop career is no longer on hiatus. The mother-of-two released her latest duet with husband Evan Ross ‘I Do’ last month, earning her invite to this year’s MTV EMA’s.

Ashlee’s lengthy blonde locks were pulled back into a high ponytail, and then secured with a strand of her hair wrapped around the base. Dewy foundation and an accentuated cat eye completed her polished pink carpet look.

It’s no wonder Camila Cabello is smiling. She walked away with not one but four awards at this year’s MTV EMA’s, including Best Song and Best Video for her hit song, ‘Havana’.

The 21-year-old pop singer capitalised on the ponytail trend, with her gently tousled tresses smoothed back to the crown of her head, while face framing layers were left free for a romantic finish.

We’d be doing this week’s best beauty looks a disservice if we forgot to include Jourdan Dunn’s futuristic take on a classic ponytail.

The model and actress wore the top section of her hair closely braided and twisted against her scalp, and accessorised with four metallic silver clips to add interest. Her ponytail itself celebrated her hair’s natural texture, rendering us green with envy over her bountiful locks.

One-quarter of girl group Little Mix, Perrie Edwards was spotted sporting the high ponytail of our dreams while posing with her posse.

Strands were meticulously slicked from her hairline and gathered high on top of her head, leaving silky smooth lengths to trail down behind her. We can only imagine how much hair serum was used to get this looking just right.

Bucking the high ‘power’ ponytail trend, Sofia Reyes wore hers low and loose instead.

Her hair was separated into a centre parting, with strands smoothed down either side and secured at the nape of her neck. Whatever vitamins she’s taking to grow hair that long (assuming it is all hers), we want ‘em. Extra points for the acid yellow manicure with silver cuticle detail.
