Celebrity Beauty Looks We Love 22/10/2018

Big hair and bold eyes were the looks du jour this week, as seen on everyone from silver screen stars to songstresses

With a gene pool like hers, it’s no wonder Lila Grace Moss has been signed as the new face of Marc Jacobs Beauty for 2019. Following in the pointed-pump footsteps of her supermodel mum Kate Moss; the teenager looked much older than her 16 years at the launch of Marc Jacobs’ Leopard Frost Collection.

For eyes, a blend of warm hues like copper, taupe and chocolate brown comprised her smoky eye look. Punchier shades featured in her inner corners, before blending out to more chocolaty shades towards her temples, while the rest of her look remained bronzed and soft.

What would our round up of the best beauty looks be without including a Royal visitor? The Duchess of Sussex appeared prim and proper when attending an afternoon reception hosted by the Australian Governor General this week.

While the Duchess is quickly becoming known for her cookie-cutter beauty look (is she learning from Kate?), it’s great to see her sidestep tradition on occasion. Here, she trades her signature nude lip for a more peachy shade, and dabbles in a bit more contouring than we’re used to. Long may it continue!

With their lavish three-day wedding pegged for November 30, the future Mrs Nick Jonas has clearly been paying special attention to her skincare regimen – she’s positively glowing. The actress shone at Tiffany & Co.’s 2018 Tiffany Blue Book Collection launch at Studio 525 in New York.

Bonus points to Chopra for expertly matching her eyeshadow to the iconic Tiffany & Co. box. Generous lashings of mascara accentuated her long eyelashes, and a matte nude lipstick balanced out a busy eye look. Next time, we’d like a little more blush to help warm up her cheeks and make this look a little less 2D.

We weren’t joking when we teased coloured liner would be big this season, as seen here on A Wrinkle In Time actress Storm Reid. The 15-year-old was one of many celebrities who walked the blue carpet at Porter’s Third Annual Incredible Women Gala at The Ebell in Los Angeles.

Designed to match her pearlescent blue dress, Reid wore winged eyeliner in the same shade, offering distinct contrast with her dark brown eyes. For lips, a swipe of soft pink lip gloss prevented Reid from looking too grown up.

We were glad to see Taylor Swift feature something other than her signature red lips and winged eyeliner at the 2018 American Music Awards at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles.

The pop star wore a modern take on cut crease eyeshadow, using a mixture of silver, charcoal and black shadows to add dimension and depth. The Bad Blood singer didn’t forgo the winged eyeliner entirely, but its passable here. Pretty pink lipstick featured on Swift’s noticeably fuller lip (is that the rumour mill we hear?).

It seems another of our beauty trend predictions came true – big hair is back, baby. Singer Tori Kelly’s tresses were larger than life at the 2018 CMT Artists of the Year Awards, held at Schermerhorn Symphony Centre in Nashville this week.

Her signature bronde locks were curled into tight ringlets, then flipped to one side, and set with what we can only imagine is can upon can of hairspray. Sassy smirk optional.
