8 Pointy Flats and Cats
Pointed flats are mobile, sleek and polished
Office workers being sent home for not wearing heels, movie stars turned away from red carpet events for not wearing heels ... when did we regress? In light of recent events concerning a woman’s right to wear whatever shoe she pleases, fashion’s ability to encourage individuality and freedom of expression couldn’t be more relevant. It’s natural, too, that the shoe of the season is sensible, simple, grounded. Pointed flats offer ease of mobility; sleek and polished, they work well with cropped, tailored pants or a skirt suit. But it’s the more precious propositions that will make heads turn — flat shoes for after-five events, embellished and swathed in luxurious fabrics more akin to those worn by dreamy Russian tsarinas. Feet planted firmly on the ground, they provide plenty of time to work the room with a confident, and comfortable, stride.
