Every Look From Prada Menswear Autumn/Winter 2021 (And Everything We Loved The Most)
The latest collection from Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons is all about feeling
The second collection from Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, and their first menswear range together, autumn/winter 2021 ‘Possible Feelings’ runway presentation streamed around the world this morning (and right here on Viva.co.nz).
A synergetic blend of Prada's and Simons' design codes, and born from the isolation of 2020, the collection is inspired by an individual’s need for contact, interaction and feeling — both emotional and sensory.
This translates to thoroughly tactile clothing (knits, fur, leather, bouclé tweeds, nylon) and the set itself — a surreal upholstered dreamscape, the materials of which will be used for installations around the world before being sustainably repurposed by Milan-based circularity initiative Meta.
To further the ideas around body and contact, the contrast between second-skin knits and jumbo outerwear captures disconnection between inside and outside, and how both garment families can help us find comfort.
Viva loved the jacquard knit one-pieces and mohair cardigans, the geometric prints worn tight against the body, the corduroy and re-nylon coats, the gloves, and the pinstriped suiting.
