Watch: How to Style Cropped Hair

Stephen Marr's step-by-step guide for working cropped hair into a slick and refined look

Cropped locks, swept from her cheekbones and accentuating her characteristic features, gives The Intellectual a certain allure. There's a confidence in her opinion and she can tell a brilliant joke. Refined and considered, she has a cinematic quality to her, comparable to the iconic Italian actresses of the 1960s. Here the team from Stephen Marr work a soft and textured cropped hair into a slick and refined finished look.

Get the look:
1. After dampening hair, apply a generous amount of Aircraft Pomade Mousse from R+Co ($48). This product turns into a mousse which is easy to apply and perfect for even product distribution.

2. Using a wide tooth comb, create a side part and comb hair down into a strong, sleek silhouette.

3. Using a Mason Pearson brush, tidy up any edges using the tip of the brush to create a cleaner line.

4. For make-up, Ashley Skiffington of Lucy and The Powder Room Newmarket focused on clean, flawless skin with heavy brows using Osmosis Brow Gel in Taupe ($50). "To apply gel, I used an angled brush that allows a controlled build-up of colour for a soft, natural look."
